La Fura dels Baus and Rafael Argullol, in collaboration with the Fundació Mies van der Rohe, present Matria 1 (the centre is everywhere), a performance that involves several theatre actions conceived specially for the closure of the Mediterranean Windows exhibition.

Based on the exhibition's seven virtual windows that open from the sea into the very core of a marginal neighbourhood of Athens, Barcelona, Beirut, Istanbul, Marseilles and Venice, La Fura dels Baus has developed seven actions, the source of inspiration for which is the neighbourhoods' public spaces.

These actions will be performed in the hold of the Naumon, transformed into a laboratory, matrix, crucible and melting pot of human relations. The audience members that enter this floating laboratory will automatically become converted into donor subjects for our seven experiments on the limits of human creation and perception.
